JOB OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a candidate to fill a professional position of Senior Research Scientist for our European testing and research laboratory. This facility is located in Delft, The Netherlands. Job responsibilities will be carried out at both the research laboratory as well as at customer locations around the world.

About us:

American Glass Research (part of the Indicor Group) is a full service independent, research and testing laboratory with expertise in performance testing, fracture analysis, design analysis, consulting, training, inspection, product liability and auditing for the container glass packaging industry (manufacturers and users).

About the role:

This position will report directly to the Manager Research Europe. Main responsibilities include performing research projects for our customers, planning of staff resources for projects, designing and implementing research experiments. Tasks within your area of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

• Development, organization and presentation of plans for research and testing projects

• Implementation of project plans

• Determination of analysis methods and experimentation

• Preparation and presentation of lectures consistent with area of specialization

• Performing complex analysis and experiments

• Providing on-site consultancy for our customers

What we require:

• The candidate should possess the citizenship of an European Union member state and be willing to relocate to the Rotterdam/Delft/The Hague region of The Netherlands.

• A BSc or MSc degree preferable in Materials Science , Chemistry or Physics.

• Demonstrable experience of at least 5 years in a container glass production environment and/or beverage/drinks filling line environment (preferred).

• Demonstrable fluency in written and verbal scientific English language (native speaker or professional proficiency).

• Knowledge of other languages is an advantage.

• Willing to travel (international) for up to 50 days/year

• Driver's license

• Computer skills, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint
