Performance Testing

Lightweighting is a great way to reduce cost and increase profit.  However, it is important to know the amount and locations that glass can be removed from the article without compromising performance.  Our design team can determine the lowest acceptable glass weight for a particular design.

Glass Quality

Labeling and Decoration
Applying decorations such as applied ceramic labels (ACL) requires a close match in expansion characteristics between the base glass and the ceramic material. Large differences in this aspect can substantially weaken a container.  Using stress measurement techniques this problem can be diagnosed efficiently.

Closure Problems
Troubles with closures can result in breakage problems or consumer complaints due to high removal torques.  American Glass Research can determine if problems are due to coatings, finish dimensions, misuse, or the closure itself.   

Slurry Mixture
This product enables you to quickly identify an undesirable presence of polyethylene cold end coatings in the finish region of a bottle.
